Official launch of Hinterland Who’s Who newest Webisode on Urban Wildlife
“The Hinterland Who’s Who series is a part of Canadian culture and, for some, is at the root of their connection to wildlife;” says Wade Luzny, the Canadian Wildlife Federation’s Executive Vice-President. “The new webisode on urban wildlife will help communities across Canada learn more about our wild neighbours.”
The newest HWW webisode will put the spotlight on urban wildlife ranging from skunks to raccoons and everything in between. In addition to the new webisode, fun related content will be added to the Hinterland’s Who’s WhoTube website. Kids will be able to read about our profiled animals, find useful information in the urban fact sheets that cover a range of different species, have their questions answered in the frequently asked questions section and much more! HWW is a program of the Canadian Wildlife Federation and Environment Canada who have been working together on the HWW wildlife education program since it was re-launched in 2003. HWW’s goal is to reach as many Canadians as possible and encourage them to take action to conserve wildlife. Increasingly, Canadians not only want to learn about nature, but also want to understand how each of us can play a part in preserving it. -30- About Canadian Wildlife Federation: CWF is dedicated to fostering awareness and appreciation of our natural world. By spreading knowledge of human impacts on the environment, sponsoring research, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, recommending legislative changes, and cooperating with like-minded partners, CWF encourages a future in which Canadians may live in harmony with nature.
