50th Anniversary Video Contest

It all started in 1963, with black-and-white vignettes about the loon, the moose, the gannet and the beaver...

For the past 50 years, Hinterland Who’s Who has proudly been bringing Canada’s iconic wildlife directly into your homes. It's your turn to inform Canada about your favourite species or ecosystem!

Many people were part of the celebrations by participating in the “Canada’s Favourite Wildlife” video contest! The sent us a short video introducing us to their favourite Canadian species and told us why it’s their top choice.

And the winner of the "Canada's Favourite Wildlife" video contest is... Michelle Beaudry, of Nelson, British Columbia! She sent us this awesome video about her favourite species, the narwhal.

The prize was an exciting whale-watching adventure for two in Tadoussac, Québec, of a maximum value of $5,000*!

The winner was randomly selected on January 6th 2014.
